The September jobs report came out last week, and the numbers were a mixed bag.  The unemployment rate dipped 0.2% from August to 3.5%, beating forecasts.

The August job openings report was also released last week, and it showed the steepest decline in open positions since April 2020, just after Covid hit.

According to the September Wall Street Journal/Vistage Small Business CEO Survey, a majority of respondents have already boosted wages, offered flexible hours and remote working, and leadership development programs.
